R.E.M releases a video in Open Source format
This from ReadWriteWeb: Yet a new way to publish music. The video is in HD (mp4) format, so it is quite large file size. Anyone can mix, edit etc. the video and publish it on the song’s Youtube site. I remember back in the days, when David Bowie had one of his songs publised in a web based mixer. People could listen to different tracks and mix them in different ways in real time. I wonder if that is still online. Anyway, this is a way forward again.. Next, someone could use Jumpcut or similar service to allow fans to work with their video.
