This is my weblog at Sibelius Academy, Finland. My work and research is related to music education technology, and in particular

• online learning
• online music communities
• blogs, wikis, digital video etc. in music learning
• the emphasis is in higher education
• collaborative, and community centred learning

I rebell against traditional authorative master-disciple relations in music instruction, the notion of students as empty minds and passive receivers in learning situations, content centred online instrcuction etc.!

I received my PhD in music education, and currently work at the Sibelius Academy as a “Senior consultant”. I am also the chairman of The Finnish Society of Music Education Technology. See my publications for further details!
